This class explores the elements needed to dance Argentine Tango in a social setting. With an emphasis in technique, elegance and the history of the dance, we will focus in the embrace and the walk through exercises in the connection, musicality and navigation on the floor.

Mujeres en Resistencia
Mujeres en Resistencia is an autonomous group of Mexicana & Xicana womyn who formed in March 2007. Rooted in traditional Mexican dance styles, their zapateado rebelde is inspired by feminist and Zapatista movements. They dance to ritmos conscientes to connect struggles and strengthen community. Their protesta echoes the sounds of a people’s resistance against systems of oppression.

Circlio De Hombres- Wednesdays 6-8pm
A group of Chicano/Native American men gather at the Centro Cultural de la Raza in a circle of friendship and brotherhood. A very enriching exchange of words, feelings, and spiritual energy is shared through discussion, laughter, prayer, ceremony and reflections, all directed at the many issues facing hombres (men) as they pertain to ourselves, our family, and community.
